How to remove broken screw

If you have a screw that is broken, you can either try to fix it yourself or get a screwdriver and remove the broken screw. Remove broken screws using a Phillips screwdriver. The screwdriver has a small round head that makes it easy to remove screws from objects. It is important to use caution when using the Phillips screwdriver as it can cause permanent damage to wood if done incorrectly.

Remove a screw with a broken head

Remove a stripped screw with duct tape

Remove a stripped screw with duct tape by using the following tips:

  1. Locate the stripped screw on the panel and identify the part that is missing.
  2. Remove the strip of duct tape from around the screw’s circumference, making sure to keep it attached to the screw itself.
  3. Apply pressure to one end of the strip of duct tape and use your other hand to push it up along the channel created by the Striped Screw’s circumference.
  4. Use another hand to pull at the strip of duct tape until it snaps off from around the screw’s circumference.

  • A hack saw
  • A hand tool such as a hammer
  • A power drill
